I heard and read that the best value for the power supplycaps for a LM3875 amp is 1000 uF, and that a higher value gives less bass.
Is that also the truth when using the apm as a subwooferamp, or must the value in this case be higher ?
Thanks.

This wisdom is not supported by everyone.
Personnaly I think the more filtering capacitance
the better. Make sure you bypass them.
Carlos will add the snubbering. Perform a search.

If you don't you use snubbers with higher than 1500uF caps, as suggested by CarlosFM, what you will have is worst highs and mids. In fact you may have more bass, but on my tests it was a more boomy bass.
The snubber seems to work on the resonance that is probably causing the boominess.
