Powerpod K12 & speakers rated at 8ohm (300W)

Hi,

I am not certain whether the speakers I have will work with my Powerpod K12 plus.

I have two speakers rated at 8ohm each (300W).

If I run the amp in 8 ohm mode with each speaker connected to a separate channel, is it safe to do this?

The amp has 2 channels - 500w / 4ohm

And I think it is 300w / 8ohm

Hope you can help - I don't want to damage anything at our next gig!

Thanks,

Jon.

I'm not familiar with this Powerpod K12 is it a solid state or tube amp? Can you post a link to it?
If it's a solid state(transistor) amp then it's perfectly safe with any speaker load above the minimum rated load, so one 8ohm speaker on each channel is fine.

the Powerpod K12 is a mixer/amp that's made by Phonic.
without telling us what your speakers are;asking to qualify something on just a power rating might not be the answer/advise you need.i can find a number of drivers with that spec but because of type, size, or other factors like the type of box would make them unsuitable as a P.A. speaker.

jomaco as far as getting through your next gig without damaging anything careful setup and avoiding feedback are key elements to success!
