Power Tx core should ground?

Dear brothers here:

The Power Transformer iron core for a tube power-amp should connect to signal ground or earth ground or leave it open? Which is better? Why?

Bond it to the chassis (which should be bonded to mains earth). This will improve safety and may reduce RFI. Signal earth is a different thing and should be bonded to chassis at the input of the most sensitive stage in the system (usually the phono stage).

I don't have phono stage, so I should bond it at the CD player or pre-amp stage?

Your CD player is probably double insulated (two-core mains lead), so I'd earth at the input of the pre-amplifier.
