Wonder if anyone can help me. I am in an acoustic duo and we have a fishman sa220. I also own a passive 12inch pa speaker. Its 8ohm 1000w peak 250 continous.
I would like to buy a power amp to take the mixed sound output from the fishman (XLR) into the pwoer amp and output to just one pa speaker as above.
I need to have power to maximise hearoom from the speaker and also need to know how to wire it all as with input into the power amp and one output how do I utlise the stereo aspect. Someone mentioned bridging it ?
Not looking to spend much as this is only for the odd gig. Anybody have any model recommendations and an idiots guide to how I would cable this up ?

IMHO, a 1970-80s mixer-amp will do nicely, with fewer boxes to carry around. They're also very cheap for what they are.

uk looking to buy something thats available now. Would it hurt if the amp is max 2000w as I came across this which has some nice input options that i need and a bridge output option all at a great price.

That Gemini is complete junk and only 250w bridged so that isn't a very good choice, a Behring er EPQ900 or EPQ1200 would do the trick and connection diagrams can be found in the owners manuals that are available online.
If you want to dream, your junk "2000W" amp is a perfect match to your junk "2000W" speaker.

Talk to local sound companies and ask if they've got some old amp gathering dust. Or consider a Behringer class D amp. Not carrying 40 pounds of iron around is good.
An old-school Bogen PA amp would do yeoman's work in this king of a rig. They are cheap, reliable, and sound reasonable.
I used them for a long time for a band PA system on the cheap. They "upgraded" to the bargain Crown rig and went back to the 1970's Bogens in the long run...
