Hi,
I made a ghetto overhead projector, but when I stick my LCD over it I see no image. Now, If I stick a cheap polarizing sheet between the LCD and the OHP's fresnel, I'll see an image but the colors are all flipeed! No matter how I rotate the polarizing sheet, the colors are messed up
Is this a problem with my polarizing filter?
Thanks
EDIT: one more question, I found a working 400W MH light w/ ballast for $20. I've read that the 250 Watt MH lights usually work better, but I havn't found any 250 watt bulbs w/ ballast for this little money! Should I go for it?

Not sure bout your first question..but as to your second..for 20 dollars you really can't go wrong. If you don't like it it's really no loss at all.
Dun rotate the polariser...turn it...I mean flip it upside down(use the reverse side) and try again...I have done that with many calculators...and all my friends wonder why I have such a "cool" calculator...hehehe
yeah...we use them extensively in school here...everybody has 1...but mines different...maybe i should get a nixie one...haha
What brand LCD is it?
When you took it apart what exactly did it come with? Meaning polarizers? Normally they come with a reflective polarizer between 2 defuser sheets.
400w MH bulbs are fine... just dont use one with the big huge hump. I've used the old hump MH 400w, 250w HQI double ended and the thin 400w MH bulbs. The big thin 400w MH bulbs are THE BEST!. Not only are they more then twice as bright as HQI bulbs but you can use them with a spherical reflector and condenser! (I cant wait to post pics of my setup🙂 You have to remember. It's not the size of the bulb that matters... it's the arc length. 250w HQI bulbs have about a 23-25mm arc length. The big thin MH 400w bulbs (at least the one I'm using) has a 27mm arc length. Not much difference.

the sandwich was like this:
Backlight
-----------
polarizing glass
-----------
LCD
-----------
and I think I fixed the problem 🙂
I used the backlight's polarizing glass instead of the cheap plastic filter I bought earlier. colors seem to be normal 😀
