Hey folks, I started working on cloning the PG ZPA PS driver card the other day. These cards frequently get heat damaged, but in my case the PO had done significant damage to the card and the main amplifier board while trying to remove them. All the through hole plating was pulled on the amps main board, and sever traces on both the amp and the card were completely ripped up.

Anyhow, I need the boards, so I reversed them. I have the schematic for the card done, but not the board layout yet. I am also going to clone the fan control board for these amps. It gets significant heat damage too, so new clean cards will be nice to have.

In addition to cloning the PS card, I am going to design my replacement with a switch to defeat the HV/HC rail switching. There is a popular mod that PG released notes for back in the day, it forces the amp to stay in HV mode, and also appears to disables overcurrent protection. The current schematic does not have the switch in the design yet. I will upload a copy with the switch when I get it done.

Later,
Jason

I forgot to mention, there may be errors in my schematic. Use at your own risk. I was just looking it over and I noticed I made one mistake for sure. I'll fix it and re-upload when I do the next revision. I normally find a few more little errors when I do board layout as well, so as said above, use at your own risk 🙂

Later,
Jason
