Philips 047 TT - no music, only buzz

Hello,

I've got an old Philips (22GC)047. It looks like this.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The problem is: there doesn't sound music from the speaker. The speaker is not broken, there's a slight buzz that comes from it. But I can't hear music.

Can anyone tell me what I need to replace or repair?

Hi,

you need an amplifier with a ceramic cartridge input.

I wouldn't let that thing anywhere near any records I valued.

the Philips 047 TT comes with amplifier

I guess it should work without extra amplifier, because there is one implemented in the TT, as well as a speaker.

So maybe I have an amplifier problem?

you have a problem somewhere along the chain,
I suspected it was a record player, not a turntable.
