Hi all,
Does anyone knows what is the difference between PCM63P-J and PCM63P?
I have a Rotel rcd-971 with PCM63P dac chip and a Parasound D/AC1000 with PCM63P-J and I would like to know if one has better specs than the other (couldn't find in the spec sheet) or maybe they are both exactly the same.
Thanks

At first glance it seems P-J has better THD and/or noise spec compared to "P". P-K version better still

Hello, I was a happy owner of a Parasound DAC 1000, but it requires service. I need a wiring diagram. Could you please help me with this?

Any idea of how to bypass the PMD100 so the Rotel RCD971 will operate in NOS?
I also read that the PMD100 attenuate non HDCD cds, is it true?
Thanks

Some HDCD recordings have a peak extension which basically is a 6dB compression of top 9dB at recording phase. At playback gain of 6dB should be applied to such recordings. PMD100 can apply this digitally or it can be done in analog stages based on signal from PMD100. In the former case PMD100 attenuates normal CDs or HDCDs without peak extension by 6dB. In the latter case PMD100 does not attenuate anything. How Rotel RCD971 handles peak extension is not known to me.I also read that the PMD100 attenuate non HDCD cds, is it true?
