I often make boards for automotive applications and just lately I am looking for a pcb coating that basically glues all the parts in place so they can't move about. Not that thin spray-on stuff but really thick goo that you dip the board into. Anyone know what it is called? See picture for example. (not my board, BTW)

Have a look at Henkel Low pressure moulding system, its basicly hot melt glue, so it is possible to DIY it using a glue gun. I've used the commercial system for control units etc fastened directly to diesel enginines.

You can use polyuretane, common in automative products.
Google for Elastosil which is a nice fast hardening silicone.
