I'm going to use a pc as my source for dvd's, cd's and I'd like to know people's thoughts on what is an acceptable card to use for this. You should know the sound card must have 6 channel output, as it's going to drive the speakers directly thru an amp. Any thoughts?

I've heard good things about the MAudio 24/96 cards, but never personally listened to one. I'll most likely get an MAudio card next time I upgrade my computer. They make a range of products, so you should be able to find something to fit your needs.

I've also heard good things about the maudio cards, only thing that i don't know about them is their software support. Big name brand cards like creative probably are supported well by powerdvd and theatertek. Anyone know how well the maudios are supported by windows apps. maudio410 looks like the winner tho 8 analogue outputs off a nifty little serial port looking connector 🙂

p.s. Are there any good sites for sound card reviews? I've only ever seen one www.pcavtech.com which is superb, if your looking to buy a sb live or any card 2 years ago 🙂 Altho the detail he goes into is quite good.
