Hello everyone . Is my first post here so... have mercy 🙂
I play with amplifiers and good music for too many years , i can't remember . The problems start now with all "digital era" .
Well... i can't say is bad thing but i just think will take some time to get back the real analog sound or i need some modif' in my system.
My setups aren't very complicated , Denon AVR2105 for movies stream from my TV and control everything in my home, for music Wangine WFA-220 , Denon POA2200 + preamp PRA1500 , all my speakers are Canton and sub Behringer .
All fit perfect when i listen music, analog source through AVR as controll (i don't use internal power of that amplif) or even optical/coax.
All sound amazing , but when i want to stream in my TV and "passthrough" audio on optical output going in AVR , everything change . The music sound crappy asf. Is like a joke to be honest comparative with any decent CD sources.
I try RF-line in Passthrough PCM option on my TV and i think is just a cover and post processing .
Still what i don't understand is , the movies sound pass DD or DTS with normal quality.
What i missing here ? I'm realy confused.
What i can do ? All i want is to stream music from tidal or spotify from my phone to DLNA and to get at least decent sound.
I was thinking to made or buy a HDMI sound extractor and convert to PCM , like that i can use internal AVR DAC's through optical input.
Sry for my english & Thanks
Bobby

Some TVs have a setting that allows the optical output to be unencrypted 2-channel stereo, or else to be the encrypted high quality multichannel stream. If it is set for 2-channel stereo then the audio with be resampled to 48kHz, perhaps not with very good quality. Since you have an AVR that should be able to handle encrypted digital audio, maybe be the problem is just a setting in your TV's setup menu?
Thanks Mark , i was thinking the same , but from my blueray , the concerts sound amazing .
Even 5.1 or 2.1 the AVR decode nice . Also the chip for decode is Analog Devices Hammerhead SHARC high resolution 32-bit floating point DSP with advanced surround sound format decoding including DTS-ES 6.1, DTS 96/24 5.1, DTS Neo: 6, Dolby Digital EX and Dolby PLIIx .
For stereo mode DAC is capable to decode 192kHz/24-bit , is decent and nice sound.
The problem is when i connect spotify , on premium wont let me change the quality after i connect to chromecast he change back to automatic .
At the end i think the chromecast downsample the original resolution of songs.
That happen even i stream high resolution music to chromecast from my PC become the same shity sound.
I try different DLNA players but they wont let me to connect spotify or tidal.
Any good advice to solve this ?
I mean what device to buy or to make to get the original sound max 192kHz/24-bit from DLNA ? And of course to have optic and coaxial (even people says optic sound crispy , is not quite right , i think depends of entire system reproduction) so i prefer optic instead of coax.
Thanks

Seems to be a known issue with Chromecast - it transcodes the OGG Spotify stream to AAC: How Good Is Spotify’s Audio Quality?

Yup , i thinking that happen . I rid off of Chromecast . i get tired of that .
I replace with a old laptop with broken screen Lenovo ThinkPad T560 - 15.6" - Core i7 6600U - vPro - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD - US Specs - CNET
but now i have other problem . The Intel HD Graphics 520 of that laptop have only 2 channels available in config , doesn't matter if my TV support DTS and DD pass-through to pass via Toslink out to my AVR.
The easy solution is to buy a USB to Spdif converter to be able to pass Ac3 and others multichannel formats 96/24 and stereo 192/24.
I don't want any analog output , my old AVR will do the job.
I found something here USB to SPDIF Digital to Digital Converter but i'm confused .
They have some products there , but are capable of multichannel to don't alter the original sound ? Or each converter USB to Spdif have hes own specifications even in pass-through mode , that depends of product used.
In my mind Pass-through mean no touch original.
Thanks and i wait a kind advice
