I am looking for some help with my headphone /preamp build. I might be able to complete it today if I can sort out a few last bits.
These are the parts I have and would like to use for now.
Is my thinking correctly with this setup? I want the 3prong 3way toggle to switch between headphone jack output and RCAs for use as preamplifier for ACA.
Is my diagram correct? Will it work safe and effectively wired this way?

If you only need to switch the right channel then your diagram is correct, otherwise you need a DPDT switch for switching both channels.
If you switch the ground there will be a difference of the left and right channels across series connected RCAs or headphones depending on the switch position.
No, you can't switch two circuits with one switch, even if they share a common return, they are still two circuits.Could the ground wire be connected to the switch? Using the switch to complete the circuit from one or the other side? Maybe I don't understand that well, it seems to make sense to me but I am just a learner.
