Optrex industrial LCD

Hi,

We had a industrial PC lying around with a Optrex LCD. I have just installed the Win98 system files on it so dont know how it really is but it does display the Win98 splash screen.
Well..I removed all the plastic parts etc but there is one problem.
There are two PCB's on the edges of the LCD on the X and Y axis. They both can flop open but the X axis PCB has a small ribbon which fits on to the connector which is on top. So basically if I have to get the X axis PCB out of the way, I have to remove it from the connector on top.

Has anyone been through this?

Typical high profile industrial LCD (NEC,MITSUBISHI,OPTREX) may have similiar FCC/FPC types (double/dual row of copper contacts).
