Optocoupler for p-ch JFET attenuator?

As shown in the attached schematic fragment, H5 is a control signal from an Arduino that is supposed to control the "mute" circuit. I'm wondering if it would be a bad idea to connect the uC's ground here. Or perhaps I should replace the transistor with a optocoupler. I want to reduce, if not, eliminate the possibility of feed-through. What should I do here?

a regular optocoupler will do (e.g. H11, with a current-limiting resistor from vcc into the coupler and then into the base of that bipolar). do not connect the grounds if you can avoid it....
