I was looking at Nola type 3-way speaker-designs. They have usually 3.5" midrange in open back baffle .
What is the benefit for having midrange open back in 3-way ?
Bass is sealed and ribbon tweeter too.
What happens if I make backwall of my 3.5" midrange driver (3-way speaker) open instead of sealed?
Sensitivity will be lower? What about frequency output-will it be the same?

Hi Sape!
You are asking a very broad set of questions. For a good introduction to open baffle speakers, check out the good Dr. Linkwitz's website here.

I like the sound of naked midrange
Just make sure midrange you use has phase plug so no disturbance from voice coil ventilation, it can be really bad worst case
Dipole wool carpet thread gives you some boost to lower end
