Gents:
I just purchased a used pair of the MQ8LBomega drivers used in Omega's various speaker offerings, the Super, Compact and Maxhemp speakers seen here:
http://www.omegaloudspeakers.com/products.html
These are the ferrite magnet version. They were developed to be used in BR alignment enclosures. I have read that these drivers were drop in replacements for previous speakers that Louis C (Omega) built using the B200 and I believe at one point I saw that it as a replacement for the 207, unfortunately I cannot locate that post. The issue is that I do not and cannot find driver parameters.
My question is, is there enough flexibility in the BVR series of the spawn that this driver should work properly or is it imperative that I find the parameters prior to moving forward?
In my room I can be up to 8' away from the driver with the rear of an 18" deep cabinet located 1' away from the front wall. Would this allow me to use the driver in the curvy Chang? If not, would the half Chang be suitable? ould another one of the spawn cabinets be more appropriate?
I will try these drivers on OB, but that will definately require a woofer integration, I would like to get enough bass out of these units to be able to truly run them as single drivers full range. I'm not looking for HT bass, that is another room in the house, but I would like them to be able to handle most blues, classic rock, ect..
The room is small (10.5'x12.5'x8') with the speakers on the 10.5' wall and has some acoustic treatments.
Sorry for the lengthy post. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Best,
Ed

Simple answer is, without the T/S parameters it's a bit of a crapshoot. It might, but I don't know. The Omega units are based on the Hemptone 8in FR driver, but somewhat modified. If you want a SWAG, then assuming they're reasonably close to the original, I suspect they'll exhibit a response similar to that cab. with the Pioneer B20 with a well-damped LF.
