I'm loking for the concepts, principles, specifications, design rules, equations for design a noise and/or RFI supressor coil or torroid for a dimmer that ha s to deliver 2 kW of power, mains 230 Vac and 50 hz the frequency of mains.
Thank you, byplease folks help, me, help to set the foundations of tarspek!

The simplest filtering approach for dimmers is to place an inductor in series with the load, whose purpose is to limit the turn-on dI/dt slope across the mains wiring, thus dramatically reducing radiated EMI.

That inductor should be sized to handle the peak current drawn by the highest nominal load without saturating. The inductance value should be high enough to limit di/dt to reasonable values, take 5A/us as a refference, but low enough to avoid excessive lag in the current waveform.

For 230V AC mains and 2KW load, a 68uH 13A inductor would be fine.
