I bought a Dayton DVC-385-88 a few years ago and just go around to buildintg/installing a cabinet for it. No Sound :-( During the installation I tested it with a 9V battery to see that both VCs moved the diaphragm out when connected Red+ and Black- and the phase is correct. So, the diaphragm moves out when battery tested but when attached to the anp it doesn't move. I tried connecting just one VC, twice- once on each side, and "No Joy". The amp works fine connected to a different driver so it doesn't appear to be an amp or input problem. I'd test the RE on it but my MM has taken this opportunity do die on me too. (Brand new battery and the only test that appears to work in continuity) I'm at a bit of an impasse, I just can't come up with a reason that a battery would work but an amp won't. HELP Thanks
yes If I had tried them together I would not have been able to assure myself that both leads were marked the same. So, Yes Both pairs of leads push out on the diaphragm when connected Red+ and Black- And Thanks for asking
This is very odd, get a DVM and start checking everything.
Lack of rigor
Thank you very much. I thought that the battery test results were surprising but your advice to "test everything" found the problem. I had tested on "A" and then on "B" but not the same speakers. :-( "A" was my problem. Same amp different outputs. Total rigor fail Thanks again Now on to find out what "A" seems to be configured as "Off"
