people have told me that 3000 lumens is the absolute minimum for a DIY system, and that at least 4000 lumens should be used. if you did use this projector your lighting options would be severely limited.
This projector is great for dark room.
Now I do not have reference point...
This is first non commercial projector I saw in action.
It compares well with most images I saw so far for much less
money and work ( I know work is good, that is next step )

severly limited?
I use an ohp from the early 70s with a 500watt halogen that is not far off or even matches germax's results (no tweaking watsoeva) so i reckon that ohp from ebay will be fine,

I've been using a 3M 2000 lumen OHP, 360w ENX, for a long time now. It's bright enough to do the job.
Well It's a little too late, but I have that OHP projector and it works awesomely good with my Nview Z210 on my 60x60 video spectra da-lite screen so long as the room is dark...very dark.
