To start with, i'm a newbie at diy speaker building. Have just completed a pair of back loaded horns which was relatively simple.
For my next project i'd like to try an open baffle with a large subwoofer driver. I am thinking of using the EnABLed Fostex FE126E sold by planet 10 hifi for the mids/upper duties.
Is this a good choice?
Any better options?
What's a good matching subwoofer? It's important to me to get the best bass I can out of an open baffle.
Rather attempt designing my own speaker, i'd prefer to build a proven design. Are there any out there that I can follow?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

You should read Martin J King's paper first.
That will give you the best start for exactly what you want to do.
