Newbie looking for some advice on mods and tubes for Cayin TA-30

Hello world,

I have just entered the world of tubes by way of an used, but not abused, un-modified Cayin TA-30.

I have done a fair bit of googling and searched on various forums, but have not yet found anything with any level of detail that I feel comfortable with. I have basic electronic and soldering skills and knowledge and was hoping for a bit of hand-holding in my first foray into modding.

I am wondering if there if anyone knows of any sites or other resources that will walk a newbie through some simple modifications to the TA-30 ?

I gather that the switching out 4 of the capacitors for Auricaps and upgrading a power cap is a fairly good place to start. I assume that I just look at the current cap values and get same values for the replacements. Any advantage to using other values ? Any recommendations for parts to use ?

Looking at rolling some tubes. I have just installed a complete set of new tubes - matched quad of JJ KT77 + matched pair of JJ ECC803S (12AX7) + matched pair of JJ ECC82 (12AU7) - to replace the original (EL34 + 12AU7 & 12AX7) tubes. The resulting sound is way too bright, with very little bass. I have had them powered up for about 5 hours now and I am wondering if this is a bad combination or if I simply have to let them break in for a while yet?

Thanks
