I am building a "class d audio" amp kit. I found a switch that I want to use for a power on/off button, but the two contacts only have continuity when the button is depressed. Can I use a 120vac latching relay to allow this switch to operate the amp? Also will there be a problem with this relay introducing noise into the amp? I am open to other suggestions as to what will work.

I couldn't find any tech info on the latching relay you linked to. sometimes latching relays have 1 coil to turn on and a second coil to turn off. so you would need an on button and a off button.
some power supplies have a "soft start" that can turn on from a low voltage control signal, that kind of thing could be controlled with a momentary button like that.
maybe you could do something with a relay and some kind of logic circuit to control it, a logic latch like a flip-flop maybe? rather than a latching relay

Yes it would, I just really like that switch. It goes well with the amp chassis design. If I could find a switch like that one that is a SPST on/off I would jump on it. I have not had any luck though.
I don't know anything about a logic circuit or flip-flop. If that would work I'm interested. Do you have anymore details? Also will this solution cause any noise in the amp?
