What can be said about this design for Pluvia 7HD?

Seen it just now on FB in 2ch stereo fo average person. You must be part of that group 🙂 Would be good to credit the hungarian guy who built it 🙂 According to him it sound good. He also mentions some Chr70...I didnt understood what he ment.

Hard to say what driver it is.
But it is a horn.

Would need too simukate it to get an idea of how it really performs. The smooth curves are counterproductive

It also looks like it has been made wider, which will affect the expansion.

An understatement! Just look at all that ripple all the way up through the midrange..... 👎Oh well, different strokes and if my time on the WWW has taught me anything it's that the average audio consumer prefers it.

It's a fairly common configuration (or was); the original Jericho used it, minus the counter-productive internal curving. If the builder likes it, can't argue, but more generally -not something I'd do for the reasons GM refers to above.

Regarding the curve at the top, only the damping material is shaped into a curve but not the timber. Which shape is relevant?

Expansions at corners (ie no deflectors) act as additional low pass filters to help ensure not to much HF is getting out of the mouth.
