Need some info on Scan Speak

Any info on this line would be helpful. I ready to rework a system and I am trying to decide if I want to use a 3 way setup or not. I've got a dynaudio system 360 and thought about using the 8" for a midbass, a scan speak revelator 7" for midrange (mainly because I like for my music to be loud when I want it to) and possible a focal tweeter. Any input will be helpful or recommendations

You may get asked for more details about your goals, budget, tastes, listening room, etc. - so have some answers prepared for that! 😀

In the meantime, I can't speak to the Dynaudio 360, nor can I speak from personal experience with regard to the Revelator series, but if you can afford them I don't think you can go wrong -

I say this from much research on this site, and from reading John Krutke's tests at Zaphaudio.com. Specifically, he gives the "best midrange" award to the 7" Revelator, which is exactly what you say you wanted. His test that includes this driver is here:

You may also be interested in reading about his newest design, which utilizes the 5" revelator - I believe it's the first design utilizing Scan Speak woofers, but don't quote me on that. It is here:

Hope this helps some.

I'm curious about some subjective observations on these speakers too. After I get my feet wet with some ModulaMTMs I was thinking of building some speakers with these and some Seas Excels for a kind of shootout. Since I'm not really sure what I like as far as paper vs aluminum woofers and hard vs soft tweeters I thought why not build a top of the line representive of each and see what I like personally. But there is not much subjective SQ info on the revelators like there is with the Seas excel.
