Looking for a schematic for a .5 to 1W guitar amp with absolutely no frills. No volume control, tone, etc. 🙂. Class A preferred but not a must-have situation.
Note: I'd also like a schematic that uses discrete components rather than something like an LM386 or LM380-N and the like. Have a bunch of old Radio Shack components laying around that need to be used 🙂. Any help in this endeavor would be greatly appreciate!

can you provide an inventory of parts
can you provide an inventory of parts you currently have on hand that you are considering using up?

Well, call it anything u could get from Radio Shack in store 10-15 years ago. Had one two blocks away, and I stocked up on just about everything when I found out they were getting out of the "tinkerer" market place and shifting more to consumer electronics. (Interesting note: they just announced that they are shifting back to their old diy, tinkerer model. woot!)
Anywho, call the the 2N2222 packs, MPF102's, 2053's, regulators, resistor packs, etc. I also have a VERY extensive junkbox...collecting parts for 30 years 🙂.
Actually, I can design and build this amp by my lonesome, but I kinda figured that others have already been down this path numerous times, and I'd kinda like not having to worry about all that stuff, get the iron out, and solder away 🙂.
Note two: I love building useful gear from junked electronics and giving parts a new "life," if u will 🙂. I'm not looking for the best THD rating here, although I would at least like to bias the thing class A (or AB if I must). I could go class D or E, but power consumption and efficiency is not going to be a worry, because it will be powered by via power supply. (More of that in a response to a post here.)
You have any power supply?
At what voltage?
Well, I have the regulated 10A, 12V supply from Radio Shack in my building/ham shack, but I'd rather not have to lug that thing around just to practice my guitar in my bedroom. Was thinking about getting a 12V, 1-2A wallwart, filtering the crapola out if it, putting a regulator on the output, and bypassing the regulator at audio for a cheap and dirty supply. Whatcha think? Hmmmm..wondering (off the top of my head) if that would be a good enough supply for class-A bias?

What about this 2 watt one 2 Watt Amplifier or this one http://circuitdiagram.net/2-watt-mini-audio-amplifier.html

Yeah...I'm really liking the 2nd schematic. Even has a volume control 🙂.
As most of us know here, 2W can get kinda loud if ur not careful 🙂.
As an aside, did any of u ever run across any DIY 1-2W mono amps that have THD's @ or less than %.001? I think it mite be kewl to build a pair for an iPhone or Android phone for the bedroom, and I know there are some audiophiles out there that would pay good cash for that kinda setup 🙂.
I see it now..two mono-blocks driving and pair of 4" maggies 🙂.
Aside #2: I tend to be a single-ended tube freak when it comes to "real" audio 🙂. Long live the 12AX7 and the 811A 🙂.
Well, that ones a bit "too simple," but thanks for the input!
I think the first of the 2 watt ones is the best, but i'd add a bootstrap to it.
Think I'll build both and see what gives with each. Going to use ugly construction, so the 2nd one seemed more appealing 🙂. Might add a tone and bass circuitry later, too, and was even considering adding a switch to change classes. Will play around with it and let u know how it turns out.

Thanks, paulb. I even added that site to my favorites list.

Looks like a very nice amp, Scott. Might try my hands at one at a future date.
