Need help on tube buffer

Hi All,

I'm using this MF X-10D tube buffer clone in my project. Currently I'm using single ended RCA inputs and outputs for both left and right channels. Now I'm planning to go for balanced connections. My question is - can i use 1 of these boards to form 1 channel balanced buffer (i.e. stereo buffer to mono balanced buffer)?

I was thinking to connect the buffer board's left, right shield wires (shorted) to xlr pin 1, left channel core (signal) to xlr pin 2 and right channel core (signal) to xlr pin 3. Same will be applied to the output RCAs of the board. Will this work?

Maybe I was not clear enough with my question. I have come up with an illustration for this configuration:

In my current configuration (top part of the illustration) -
1. Single ended inputs are going into the tube buffer board (left and right channels)
2. Both signal hot wires (red) are in phase

In my expected configuration (bottom part of the illustration) -
1. Balanced input signal is getting split from single XLR output to dual RCA outputs and being fed to tube buffer board (left and right channels)
2. XLR pin hot (pin 2) is connected to tube buffer's left input tip - phase 0
3. XLR pin cold (pin 3) is connected to tube buffer's right input tip - phase 180
4. XLR pin ground (pin 1) is connected to tube buffer's left and right input sleeve
5. On the output section of the tube buffer, dual RCA connections are getting converted to single XLRs which are being fed to mono amplifier modules with XLR inputs.

Now my question is - Am I thinking right? Will this work?
