Hi guys
I need your help. I am trying to revive an old reciever (a JVC Nivico Model 5300), but some of the output transistors have blown. They are 2SD84 transistors, and I need to know what the modern equavalent is, or a place on the internet where I can look up for modern replacements. Any help is appreciated.

a BUV21 is a bit pricy.
More modern Sanken replacements are the plastic 2SC4466/2SC4467, both less than $2.50 each at BDent.
(or use TO3 Motorola/Onsemi's if you can get them by the cheap, the 2SD84 is only a 50-60W device and slow)

I've seached 2SD84 datasheet without results, but SGS suggest BUX41 as suitable replacement.
I don't know how poverful is that old receiver, but I think a 200V 15A 120W transistor is a bit oversized.... probably a cheap 2N3055 could do the work.

Good one, it's easy to overlook the obvious, my databook lists the Ft of the D84 at 3MHz.
The Nivico must be close to 40 years old, likely 10 to 15W tops.
