Need Help for a 12" coaxial driver. Altec Lansing Model 920-8A or ElectroVoice 12TRXB
Hi All, I need some help and recommendation for a 12" coaxial driver.
Trying to replace some old 12" full range drivers that died, the custom speakers have been in my family the past 50yrs and would like to get some nice quality sound out of them.
I found pairs of Altec Lansing 920-8A, Electro Voice 12TRXB. Is anyone familiar with these? any other recommendations for a nice audiophile sound?
I know there some really nice old Altec Lansing coaxial's out there and highly desired ($$$$) but my budget for the drivers is around $350 pair or less.
Any suggestions?
The enclosures are 4.5 cubic feet with a rather large front vent. room sz: 17' x 25'
I will be driving them with a D-class amp or small tube integrated with PS Audio dac/digital source.

The Altec will need a woofer with it. That being said, Altec has always been known for nice sounding mids.
