Hi,
I received a Soundquest(Quest for sound) R601SW tube radio for Christmas and would like to replace the 4" drivers in them with something better. I was thinking about something from Tang Band or Fostex but don't want to spend more than $40 a piece on them. I value a transparent midrange over low bass and extended highs if I had to compromise. Your suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

FE127, perhaps?
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, 4.5 inches for the 127E might be too large. I did see a 107E and a 103E on the madisound website that look intereting. Parts Express has some 4 inch Tang Band drivers that are inexpensive. How does Tang Band compare to Fostex?
Thanks,
Pete

Do you know the impedance of the original drivers?
Sometimes tube radios and stuff used "odd" impedance speakers,so you might want to just doublecheck to make sure. 🙂
Otherwise,knock yourself out! 😀
