But, it might be worth copying Pass' own Zener Follower type regulator.

It will dissipate a lot of heat and you will have 4A current draw on the supply rather than 1.3A +- 1.3Apk if it stays in ClassA.
This extra current draw demands a much higher current rating for your transformers.
