I often use various analog gear as a preamp for recording. They give me color I look for. Recently I've discovered that my Naka 500 has a really nice 70's color to it's sound so want to use it. Not much noise but a minor hum comes out after I run compression on track. I was gonna disconnect motor to see if that would help cut down the hum but there are no connector and don't wanna just cut wires.
The motor is low Voltage, not like my reel to reels where I really do need to switch motors off.
Would a cassette deck motor even add any hum?
