NAD 326 BEE Power LED blinking RED

Hello, sorry if this has already been discussed, I searshed the forum and got no result.

Bought a second hand NAD 326 BEE (now I understand why it was for sale ...), and it does not operate correctly.

After power on, while it is cold, the power led immeditly starts blinking red, even with no speakers connected.

This is not systematic. Semetimes I can get sound for some minutes, then it falls.

This looks like a protection circuit that is not operating well.

Looking in the web it seems that this is very common on this model.

Is there a know solution to this ?

Thank you

Your right -- I had a look at the schematic in hi-fi engine to try to get a reason for this .
The spec of the audio in the amp is good to very good and I wondered why so much protection is provided and --IMO - the output devices ( on the heatsink ) are near the spec. of ordinary low current BJT,s .

Now in one way this gives a good frequency response/bandwidth but their current capability is low ( for output devices ) while their bandwidth is very good for output devices while noticing a 6 ohm speaker is recommended .

As this topic has been brought up before on DIY Audio ( speaker impedance ) I will not bother talking about it , but I feel this is down to circuit design and trying to get a very good spec right across the the audio bandwidth using high spec output devices that if changed for lower spec but heavier current/lower Ft /Hfe would not be so big a problem , but that's the compromise in this circuit it would lower the spec. not a good selling point.

In a different circuit it might be different using the same devices.
