Just compare

Mundorf Mresist Ultra

Isabellenhütte PBH

Furthermore Mundorf is describing that the above mentioned resistor was developed together with a Resistor Company known for Laboratory Grade Production.

The used Alloy can be considered as Isabellenhütte Manganin

Everything fits.

p.s.: Price of course is not the same

Hi, it's from Vishay, Powertron range, very good and neutral said a friend .
Vishay produce for Wima and had just changed the aluminium by copper for damping...or for marketing.
I have found the wirewound Mundorf to be very clear and informative, far better than the less expensive MILls resistors, but these bulk resistors seems to be in an upper league.

Hope that helps

They use other materials although the resistive element is Manganin that has a very low temperature coefficient. I compared the standard Isabellenhütte to the Mundorf and they perform differently.

You are right the substrate of the MResists is copper. PBH uses Aluminium. Thank you for clarification.

Have you checked the inductivity? - cant find figures for the MResist
for PBH it is <40 nH for 1Ohm.

Oh it really seems to be Powertron. Same difference here is the substrate.

Even the Datasheet has similarities in color and style ;)

Yep, 12 years ago it was the same as far I remember, but great choice and some speakers and diy reviews as well... usefull.

I guess even longer. I think I placed my first order around 2005?

Back to Topic - I have used the PBH as Powerresistors for my Amp. Before the MResist hit the market I was thing about using them in my crossover (Replacing the Mresist Supreme Cement Resistors)
