Here's some funky speakers I was working with yesterday. I admit that I've never seen a rig like this. Can you guess what it's for?
(Sorry about the bad phone pics, it's all I had with me.) FYI, the MTM boxes were driven by separate channels, the 18" was powered (amp inside). The rig was surprisingly loud and clean.

Can any one guess what this speaker rig is used for?

Yes, I think that the "array" helps a lot. Each of the 12 boxes has it's own channel. What you can't see in th photo is that the far right box of each section is shifted back just slightly. I don't know why.

BTW, the design is from your country, Helmuth.

It's on a gig I set up yesterday, but it's not part of my rig. Will go back to strike tomorrow and have another look. I'll post the manufacturer's website when someone guesses what it's for. 🙂

Yep, that makes sense....seen the gizzards of many a tube electronic organ carcass and some have upwards of 3 separate amplifiers ie: one for each manual keyboard (depending on the number of manuals) and one for pedal keyboard.

Heard an old Allen Theater Organ where the LF reproducers were built into the hall's walls...24 X 27" EV LF drivers...ala infinite baffle...

Pano's right...whether new (digital) or old (mechanical) the SPLs can be surprising😱
