MTX 81000D ?

Does anyone know what the push button is for? It is located behind the little pin sized hole right to the left of the gain knob located on my MTX 81000D ive searched online for a manual and can not find one

It's supposed to be a compressor to help reduce clipping but I've never seen one that worked as it should have (or as I thought a compressor circuit should have worked).

Hey Perry you wouldnt happen to know when the push buttons in or out which one would be off then ill take your word for it cause i know you know your stuff that it doesnt really work i just wanna make sure its off then
