Monoblocks for mains

I was wondering if anyone had heard of or owns the Marantz MA 500 monoblock amps. We would like to power the mains in our home theater using something other than our Denon 3801 receiver, but are on a limited budget (under $500 for the ams(s)). If not, are there any other amps that are suggested in this price range?

Also, we are looking for an inexpensive DAC, and possibly preamp for connection to our Meridian 602 transport. We would like to spend under less than $600 total for the two. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.audioadvisor.com had some parasound mono-blocks 2 for $500. I don't know if they still do or not. This could be a good alternative to the Marantz.

I have 5 Marantz MA500s for my home theater rig. They do a very nice job. While there are other amps that may sound better, the competition is pretty slim at thier price point.

If you don't mind buying used, check out AudioGon or AudioReview. If picked up a pair of amps for $300 total a short while ago. They seem to turn up for sale semi-frequently as various people upgrade. To outperform these amps, you need to spend at least twice as much...
