I need your advice regarding this twin-coil loudspeaker. Can it be used as a central subwoofer serving both channels? How can I blend it with my electrostatic panels (if this is possible at all)? Actually I built a 6th order bandpass cabinet using it with a passive radiator, but the sound is horrible. It is booming so that you get headache. Probably due to the large group delay and bad transient response. Put it simply in a closed box?

I will give a quick look.
Do you know it's EBP?
Monacor SPH-250CTC it's good in BR box about 55L and tunned to FB = 25 Hz.
F3 (in room) ~30Hz.

I've read that it needs a very long break-up time
So about 7-10 days of normal running (3 hours a day)

bjorno, thank you for taking time for the simulations. I think a closed box is out of question. A traditional vented box doesn't look bad indeed. I am not very keen on horns, labyrinths, transmission lines and the like - never tried one though. How would it perform in a H-frame dipole? Or is the Qts too low for that? I might consider also an active system, there I would have more freedom.

IMO this driver is not well suited in a H frame due to the very low x-max and the low Qts but of course you can try it out:
Prepare to end up with a experienced BW much lower than a simulation would show after the need of EQ-ing, resulting in very low SPL at the lower frequencies that would barely be heard even in a bedroom environment.
