Hello,
I built my last solid state amp long time ago. Last one was a Marshall Leach, what I like very much, but it is built with Hungarian BD249/BD250 pairs what I run from 35V. It is not enough for about 100W to 8 Ohm. My experience is that these transistors are not reliable above +-40-45V. Specification is 100W but they die before 100V. So, I'm looking for something as good, but capable to deliver 100W reliable. This would be for parties in large spaces for people who has higher expectation with music reproduction (so a D class thing does not do 🙂.
What would you recommend?
Do you know a pcb design for the Mashall Leach with current transistors? Or something better?
Thanks,
JG
