So I picked up a Hitachi KM12VC, a Jasper jig, a grizzly vice table, and and a few bits. Now, do I really need a drill press to drill the piot hole, or will the approximate work of my hand drill do just fine?
I was considering a Wilton press, but had no idea what this brand was like:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...5//103-2859862-7427040?v=glance&s=hi&n=552784
Otherwise, both Delta and Grizzly make 10" presses with slightly less *claimed* power though.
Thanks,
Paul

I've done hundreds by hand, and hundreds with a drill press. There can be some binding with pilot holes drilled by hand, but if you're careful it usually isn't a problem. Be most careful when routing small holes, there isn't as much material on the Jasper jig, so it could break.
