Customer said his 2505 took a fall. The pots are smashed in. I was able to repair one of them, but the other one has a crash in the diecast metal thread assembly which separated from the part of the diecast that attaches to front of pot.
McIntosh p/n 134-207. 250K. Shaft is 2-5/8" long.
Anyone got one? Or the diecast part so I can fix this one?

Does McIntosh have any complete pot assemblies in stock? I would just buy one if they do.
Then you'd have a complete new pot, not a worn repaired pot.
Surely the broken bushing is a standard part on that mfr company's pots. Maybe the mfr is CTS?
Just buy a similar looking one of the mfr pots and swap it. An example of a CTS pot:

I have an inquiry into McIntosh, but I would not be surprised if they told me it's no longer available, so I am looking at alternatives.
I like your idea of buying a similar pot and grabbing the bushing from it. If nothing else works out, that will be a viable option. Thank you.

Ordered the "donor" pot and did the swap of the bushing. Works a charm! Pot rotation is a bit stiffer than factory, but I lubed it and hopefully it will loosen up over time. Works smoothly electrically with no noise. Thanks for that suggestion! McIntosh hasn't even responded to my parts request yet. LOL
Mass production and interchangeable parts is a good thing.
Is it possible that the new donor pot has a metric (smaller) shaft?
Surely the old, original pot is not metric.
You can also use these reclaimed bushings for panel mounting when the actual pot is
located farther back in the chassis, giving the extended shaft a stable place to turn.
