Maxing out teflon coupling caps.

I am rebuilding my P2P Audio Innovations based phono stage onto a PCB that a friend has kindly milled for me. It sounds great to me but due to their height I need to replace 0.47uF Russian FT3 at the interstage and 2 in parallel at the output. I have sourced just one pair of 1" x 2" Custom brand 1.0uF teflons and a pair of rather nice (looking at least) similar sized 1.0uF copper PIOs from a BAT amp and my question(s) are a) will 1.o uF be OK at the interstage and should I use the teflons there rather than as outputs in order to max out their effect or vice-versa or does it matter so much ? Please bear in mind that I have no wish to spend any more cash unless absolutely necessary.
