maximum impedance?

Simple XO design question - What's wrong with the attached picture? I have very little electronics background, but I know a low Z will make an amp work too hard, but I feel like a high Z must have some issues too? Thoughts?

Nothing wrong at all really. Most amps will be fine with it. There are a few tube amps that might weird oiut with the high Z at high freqs, but pretty rare. You could just put a 20 ohm power resistor across it all if you wanted to make the impedance more flat.

Yeah, but it will make your HP parts way too big and expensive. 🙂 Put a parallel resistor across the tweeter to bring the effective tweeter impedance down to the 6 to 10 Ohm range.

Of course, this matters less with really cheap parts.

Hey G, rather than starting a thread for every question, why don't you start a thread on your current project. It will be easier for people to help you if you start with a product description, parts, and maybe a current schematic.

Then those who want to help you can stick with the thread.

Best,

Erik
