I was listening to some music this afternoon and taking a look at my new subwoofer plate amp. I currently drive my speakers through the high-level outputs of the plate amp. This setup work fine but I started thinking that it might be interesting to my sub with the low-level inputs.
In order to do that, I need to be able to adjust the volume coming from my preamp right ? OK. Whenever I receive my BrianGT kits, I plan to use a simple stereo Noble pot to control the volume of the GC amp. Could I split the signal coming out of the pot and wire a pair of RCA jacks so that the signal going to the plate amp is volume controlled ?
Will this splitting of the signal attenuate it too much ? I don't really mind feeding the speaker through the high-level outputs but what if I could do it some other way !!!
As always, your help is very much appreciated. 🙂

Not knowing what the input impedance of the plate amp is and what kind of input network (R/C) is there I'd do it trough a high Z buffer connected after the pot. of the GC. This way there wont be any interference of the input of the plate amp over the GC. And the best yet simplest way is the way you have it connected at the moment.
