Low cost CD/DVD players (under US$200) with HDCD

I noticed while looking for a low cost good quality CD/DVD player that lots of low cost CD/DVD players with HDCD capability seem to have better sound quality even when playing non-HDCD disks. I wonder whether anyone else has experienced this, and whether there is any technical explanation?

Some players that incorrectly use the HDCD logo but do not actually decode HDCD do not count.

I consider players less than US$200 as low cost.

I don't know of any HDCD players that you can get new with a real warranty and all that for less than $200. But, there's this:

and this:

Dunno if that's what you're looking for, though.

I just wanted to see of anyone noticed players with HDCD sounds better than other player in the price range. If so, is there a technical reason for it.

This is more of a survey and a technical question.
🙂

Perhaps nobody knows of any CD player that has HDCD and is within this price range? I've order my second one in this range and with DVD-Audio as well.
