You know that problem, when you go and open a CD case, and the darn thing isn't there? And you think, "OK what happened... did I put that in another case?" And you go looking, and you never find it? Well I was re-arranging my stereo rack and when I pulled out my CD player (Marantz 5004) and heard quite a bad rattle inside, and I figured I better take it apart to see what's in there. And here's what I found! Notice they use a discrete amp on their analog output - nice touch.

Quite a lot of ferrite RFI suppressors in there: a toroid at upper left, another toroid at lower right, a clamp-on between the digital board and the analog-out board, and what appears to be a couple of "beads" (even though they're 12mm long) on the analog board. Those guys were serious.
