Looking for Small LCD (2-4"?)
Been reading, searching, etc etc- many posts are old and what used to work, isn't that great anymore.
I am looking to make a few small video projectors for some Halloween effects. I need some small LCDs, maybe 2 - 4" or so. I don't want to do a whole slide projector casing, as that is just too big and bulky for this setup. It must be compact. Viewing size is probably, oh, anywhere from 1' square to 5' or so (if that big, I might just build some larger ones later for the bigger effects).
Can someone direct me to a good LCD screen hack, with video/sound inputs as well as which lenses to use?
Thanks for all the help...

buy far the cheapest
Get a used PSone game, and use the 5" LCD and built-in controller. Feed it with composite video from a computer or VCR.
Get a big CRT projector lens, and a page magnifier fresnel from an office supply store. A 150 Watt MH setup would be great for something you want to leave on for a long time, but I would use a 100 to 250 Watt Halogen wide pin capsule lamp (Home Depot) for something you want to switch on and off. (MH lamps need to be off for about 10 minutes, and then have to warm up for a while.) Halogen is just simple 120 VAC on/off.
Add a fan to pull the hot air over the LCD & fresnel, past the lamp, and push it out of the box, if you want to leave it on for a while. AN IR filter would also be a good idea: DIYProjector company has IR glass, or use Rosco Thermashield from a theatre lighting store.

A nice 2.5" lcd I can recommend would be a lilliput. The same lcd is cheaper and more easilly found in the "Hip Screen". I purchased one on ebay for $8.00 + shipping. The ones for the gamecube accept 12v dc & they come with all the wires you'd need for instillation. If you need any help wiring let me know.
