Hello all,
This is my first post. I have a pair of old RCA speakers. I had never seen another pair like them, but I saw a thread on here about a woofer with a similar cone.
I believe they are LC1A's... does anybody here have any info/specs on these speakers.
I have had them since I was a kid (inherited them from my dad). I put them in storage years ago and replaced them with modern speakers. After reading extensively on the web, I am thinking I could ad a ST and build a better enclosure and get that sweet midrange they had back, with extended response.
Does a 15" driver in a Hedlund horn sound insane to any of you...or merely excessive? Any clues...advice?
Thank you in advance.
Eric

Hmmm... Guess nobody's heard of these either....there's precious little to be found by googleing them either. Any point in the right direction, for info, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again....Eric

Hello,
Some info on LC1A can be found here:
http://homepage.mac.com/ikecarumba/PhotoAlbum21.html
or one level up at
http://homepage.mac.com/ikecarumba/Menu4.html
He likes the Jensen Imperial cabinet which is available on the net in various forms. It is a good place to start.
A good reference is "Acoustical Engineering" by Harry F Olson.
Let me know if you need more information.
Regards,
Tom
