Hi,
I'm looking for a first oscilloscope to help me debug / tweak tube amps. I was browsing around in my local electronics store and came across one of these and a HP 1742A.
I'm sure the HP has more features, but the Leader is in really good shape and is about half the price. Also, I found the sheer number of controls on the HP a bit intimidating. As I said, I've never used an oscilloscope before.
Does anyone know anything about the Leader LBO-552BH? I wasn't able to find much on the web. Would it be adequate? I assume "stereoscope" is just some proprietary term for an oscilloscope, but I know next to nothing, so please excuse my ignorance otherwise.

LBO = Leader Bench Oscilloscope.
Cheap 20MHz scopes are easy enough to find, an LBO-552 does less than 5.

I tried the usual search for the Leader LBO-552BH and it looks to me like its a dedicated stereo audio scope. Too specalized for DIY applications. Personally I would recomend checking e-bay and like sources for a Tektronix. Should be possible to get a good used working insturment for 200-300 dollars. When shopping on e-bay, insist on complete and working gear.
Thanks guys - I'll pass and try to find something better.
The HP they had is less than $100, so I might just go for that.
