I am looking into pimping out a caravan, power is a slight issue but aslong as the speaker is rated under 500w it should be fine, i would like a huge subwoofer that is inexpesnive but pushes out LOTS of air
Any help is aprechiated

You are after displacement (Xmax x SD), "huge" speakers are not generally the best $$ to displacement value, multiple smaller drivers are.i would like a huge subwoofer that is inexpesnive but pushes out LOTS of air
These threads have some "value leaders":

If you want high SPL and the woofer is suited: put it in a 6th order bandpass box tuned for small bandwidth / high gain / not too much bass extension. 40 - 50Hz is sufficient, going deeper means less SPL.
And you are in (op) America/Europe, other...

Hi William,
What amplifier are you using? Is the 500 watt rating at 1 ohm, 2 ohm, or 4 ohm? How much space do you have? Do you want SPL or SQ? What is you budget? Are you able to build the enclosure? Sorry about so many questions, but the only way your going to get good quality help is to post all the details.
Regards,
Matt

Hey matt
I do not have an amplifier yet unless i use my lepai 40x2w and dedicated 68w subwoofer out, strangely enough i belive that the subwoofer out is about 100w as it sends my 15w small subs insane when it is only just on. Anyway i am going to build my own enclousure that will have a large area, i am trying to keep costs to an apsolute minimum. All i need from the subwiofer is volume whichever way i am able to achive this.
I am going to use dedicayed woofers and tweeters too but i am just looking into the low frequensy

I think the Alpine type S that Weltersys provided a link for would be your best choice. The 15 is going for $120 at Sonic Electonix. The subwoofer is available in 2 coil configurations so just make sure the amp chosen is suitable for the load. My past experience with Alpine gear has always been good. I personally like using sealed enclosures for car audio, but if your looking for a lot of output the recommended bassreflex enclosure should get very loud in the Caravan with a good 500 watt amp or bigger.
Good luck with your project. Let us know what you decide, and post pictures and if you can.
