I would ultimately like to build an entire system. I'm building one component at a time and it is time to build the preamp. Sorry to all you purists, but I don't need a phono preamp. What I do want is a surround processor, at least 4 source inputs, tone controls, a built in DAC with selectable inputs, sub output, left and right front outputs, left and right rear outputs, record out, and the ability to switch video sources too. I like to mainly listen to music, but my wife likes to show off the home theater too.
I've got ideas for the switching portion and tone controls. I'm not sure where to start regarding the digital decoder. any help would be appreciated.
